Easy 3-day beginners’ tour. If you have just a few days, meet Baikal
in the Lystvyanka village not far from Irkutsk. There are very
picturesque places. There are large range of entertainments such
as excursions, Talcy museum of wooden art, Lymnological museum,
solar observation, small trip along old railway, boat trip, hire of
quadracycles. Skiing base works for winter sports lovers.
In winter you can ride snowmobiles or ice boats on
Baikal ice (January-March).
Program:
1st
day:
Meeting in the airport (railway station). City tour "Irkutsk - heart of
East Siberia". Going to the south part of Baikal - Lystvyanka settlement.
Visting Talcy museum of wooden art on the way. Accomodation in the hotel
Lunch. Walking to the air view spot “Cherskyi stone”. Dinner.
2d
day:
Breakfast. Visiting Baikal museum. Walking excursion around
Lystvyanka (visiting church of Nicolas wonder-worker, Plamenevskyi
picture-gallery). Lunch. Dinner.
Optional: walking by motor boat,
hire of quadracycles.
3d
day: Breakfast. Coming by motor ship to Port Baikal village over Angara source
at 11 o'clock. Traveling by train along old all-around Baikal railaway.
Lunch on the way. Coming back to Irkutsk city.
!!! The old-around-Baikal railway is a historical
monument and architectonic-landscape reserve where 424 engineering
constructions were built in the beginning of XX century on the distance
of 84 km. Many tunnels, relieving walls and stone galleries are unique
and extremely picturesque. This short section has no equal among other
Russian railways by the volume of complexity and cost of work. Only
tourist trains with soft armchairs and modern tele- and audiosystem go
by the railway. The train has a bar. Guide tells about the history of
building of all-round Baikal railway during stops in the most interesting
and beautiful places. Cost:
